Please take a look at our older sister cottage Dyer’s Holiday Cottage in Calderdale West Yorkshire between Halifax and Sowerby Bridge on the edge of the beautiful Pennines. Built around 1650 as a sheep farmhouse, we think that originally the top floor housed the handlooms for the ladies to weave the pieces of woollen cloth. It was split into 5 cottages, probably in the mid 19th century, to provide homes for the Master dyers at the dyeworks (long gone) across the road. Occupied by my maternal family since 1777, if not before, it is a really special place. See more at www.dyerscottageyorkshire.co.uk
